An intimate dialogue between architecture and art, capturing a timeless bond of creation.

This piece was a gift for my father. We are both architects and designed his house together, where the painting now resides.

The space was created for the artwork, and the artwork for the space. Its reference to Michelangeloâ€™s Creation of Adam, particularly the iconic moment where the hands nearly touch, evokes the deep emotional connection between father and sonâ€”the moment of creation and the delicate bond that unites us. This scene, frozen in time, mirrors the unspoken, yet profound, exchange of energy and influence between us as we built both the house and this piece of art.

In this work, the art and architecture engage in a meaningful dialogue. The concrete walls of the house were formworked with OSB wood, the same material on which the piece is painted, leaving an imprint of the OSBâ€™s anarchic, chaotic pattern in the concrete. Additionally, skylights were designed on both sides of the painting, allowing for a dramatic play of light that shifts throughout the day. This lighting not only highlights the painting itself but also accentuates the textured surface of the walls, creating a constantly evolving interaction between the artwork and the space.
